We are doubling the amount of ELF subwoofers but this time with better tools and higher quality plywood.
When deploying the previous four ELFs toghether with the two older versions we couldn't get them to phasealign properly at the entire work range (28-80hz). We could make them to work pretty well, but not ideal.
Estimated tuning for the older cabinets is about 33hz or so, and also the design of the pathway is a bit different. This alone made the two cabinets sound very different when we did A to B comparison. The ELF has a much more desirable depth and bigger presence than the older version, not that the older version is bad sounding subwoofer in any way. Just for the simplisity and cleanest possible sound we went with just building more ELFs, and harvesting the drivers from the older cabinets.
Not sure how often we get to utilize all eight subs, but hopefully this opens new doors for us. Capacity for bigger venues/events, explore different suwoofer configurations. simultaneously events and probably more. This also contributes to one of our visions as a company after we did an event with Dub&Dal last summer (2024), and also why we bought the trailer we did.
Enjoy these pictures. (You can also find more pictures on instagram in the highlights section and "ELF")

Workbench with integrated circular saw. We bought an plunge saw with 1400mm and 700mm guides. This improved accurancy down to +/- 0,5mm.

Did it a bit different way this time around. Installing the center piece (baffle plate and sides) as one piece. This made it possible to nail every bit together properly.

So much easier when things are cut presicely.

Used two whole bottles of glue these four cabinets.

Cut every sheet before assembly

We are happy with the construction result.
Discovered that these weigh so much more in birch ply than poppel, already heavier unloaded than the others loaded with drivers. These are some chunky boxes, hopefully never lifting these up or down any stairs.
Very pleased with how the birch behaved when cutting, but they twist quite alot when stored in a dry enivorement. Not that is was a huge problem, but enough to impact fitment a bit.
